Retribution is a unique game played with a standard 52-card deck. Players alternate drawing and placing cards into any of four boxes, each box a 3x3 grid. As the game progresses these boxes fill to form poker hands — rows, columns, and diagonals make up the scoring combinations. Each player "owns" (and can score points in) two of the boxes; however, they can play cards into either their own or their opponent's boxes. Points are awarded for pairs, flushes, straights, three of a kind, and straight flushes. The player with the highest point total in their two boxes wins.
